Afghanistan is lost, says Lord Ashdown Posted on October 25th

Today’s Telegraph:

“Nato has “lost in Afghanistan” and its failure to bring stability there could provoke a regional sectarian war “on a grand scale”, according to Lord Ashdown…

Tom Coughlan’s Ashdown scoop would have been worthy of if not the front page certainly somewhere in the first three. The Telegraph’s online readership gave it higher priority making it one of the most viewed items today.
Yet for some reason only known to the print editor it was consigned to page twenty.

The title for the print edition differed: “Afghanistan is lost and regional war looms, says Ashdown“. There may well be some imperative to change the headline but it makes it much harder for people searching for something they originally seen in print. Great photo though.

  1. It’s been a couple of years since you last posted to the web Mr Miasma, but I’m glad to see you’re back. I’m not sure this shade of turban is flattering to your complexion though – could you get one in blue tones?
